Patch 1.0.3 Act 1 Farming Discussion

The official patch notes can be find on the Blizzard Site available Here

In regards the patch notes, obviously the two biggest changes in this patch are the drop rates of ilvl 61~63 items in Act 1 and 2 and the Attack Speed Nerf. Now not only is it worthwhile to farm Act 1 and 2, but the 1 guaranteed rare per elite mob with 5 stacks of NF means that Warden -> Butcher Runs are no longer the best method of farming items.

Instead, the new best method for farming Act I is to yes, do the Warden -> Butcher run with 5 stacks NF, but directly after, wander around all the different way points and caverns to round up every single elite you can find, since they all drop at LEAST one rare.

Best Waypoint for Warden Butcher Run: 9. The Imprisoned Angel -> The Cursed Hold

Butcher want to be the very best...like no one ever was :(

With my crappy gear it takes about an hour to wander around all of Act I's areas on my monk with my 12% movespeed boots, and I generally end up with a full stash page + 2 stash rows of rares to identify, all without any magic find besides the 75% from Nef Valor.

I expect the results would be much better with some Mag/Gold Find gear equipped.

You can expect to pull around 200k on a run with 0 useful drops just from vendoring sub 60 items and salvaging ilvl 60+ items providing you don't die on the run. On the other hand, if you manage to find something worth selling, 2~3 million gold runs are not uncommon.

What are your strategies for the 1.0.3 Patch? Discuss them below!
